HPL at Saxton Bampfylde Dinner | Oxford | 18 March 2025

Professor Eyre was recently the keynote speaker at a Saxton Bampfylde dinner in Oxford for principals and Chairs of governors of independent schools. The theme was whether we are effectively preparing students and young people for the future. Throughout the meal, delegates looked at what it takes to thrive in today’s world, why self-belief is a key component in success, and the changes that are needed in schools if we are to realise this objective. A lot of very vibrant discussion ensured and the room was a buzz of activity. HPL would like to thank Saxton Bampfylde for the opportunity to play a role in this event and we look forward to further conversations with the attending schools. Once again the relationship with Saxton Bampfylde, over many years is a valued one and we appreciate their support for our work.

HPL at HMC Women in Leadership Conference 2025

On Tuesday, 18 March, Professor Eyre joined an impressive set of participants to discuss the question of Women in Leadership. Topics at this event included legal rights, the climate and environment for women leaders, and much more. Notable was the excellent keynote from Sally-Anne Huang, High Master at St Paul’s School, London who spoke with compassion and sensitivity about her own career and the challenges of leading a top independent boys school. HPL has a growing relationship with HMC and the opportunity to work with their schools is a great way to spread the HPL message.

HPL at The Sultan School, Oman

On Monday, 24th February 2025, The Sultan’s School, Oman hosted the First Forum for the Best Educational Initiatives in Private Schools, in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and under the patronage of His Excellency Dr. Abdullah bin Khamis Ambusaidi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education for Education.

The event was attended by members of The Sultan’s School Board of Trustees, the Director General of the Directorate of Private Schools, along with several directors general and teachers from private schools. The forum welcomed more than 200 attendees from both private and government schools.

Seven schools participated in the forum, presenting creative and innovative educational papers, including a presentation by Ms. Hind Al Naamani, Vice Principal of The Sultan’s School, on the philosophy of High-Performance Learning (HPL) and its role in enhancing educational outcomes. Her presentation highlighted HPL as an educational philosophy designed to help all students reach their full potential by leveraging modern research in psychology and neuroscience.

Ms. Hind emphasised the seven core pillars of HPL: shifting mindsets to embrace a growth perspective, promoting inquiry-based learning, encouraging deep expertise, providing continuous feedback, emphasizing practice and training, engaging parents in the learning process, and empowering students to take control of their educational journey. By embracing High-Performance Learning, schools can foster a culture of excellence, adaptability, and innovation, equipping students with the necessary skills to succeed. #EveryoneCan

"Congratulations to students, Felix (Y11) and George(Y10), ambassadors of the IBSB growth mindset and HPL competencies, Practice, Perseverance, and Resilience at the International School of Bucharest for participating in their first Oxford School World Debate Competition on Finals Day, which took place at the Oxford Union Building, Oxford University. Debating amongst a field of 229 incredibly bright and talented debaters from around the world, most of whom were IB/A Level students aged 17/18 years old, they can take much away from their overall performance and achievement, placing in the TOP 100, 81st overall." #EveryoneCan

We are delighted to extend a huge congratulations to Year 12 students; Zhaniya, Dayana, Ali, and Arnay (Team Quanta) at Haileybury Almaty, Kazakhstan "who secured an impressive third place in the Asian Economics Olympiad! With over 4,000 participants from 14 countries, only 15 teams advanced to the final round. Team Quanta not only qualified but was ranked first overall in the first round! A special congratulations to Dayana, who achieved the highest individual score in Round 1! The final round challenged teams with an International Economics Olympiad business case, where Haileybury Almaty students demonstrated exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, earning a bronze medal among the best teams." #EveryoneCan

Please feel free to circulate the links to your staff, parents, and students if you wish to increase your survey response rates.

For any questions or advice on administering the survey, or for any technical queries, please contact Cassey Benito.
