It was very exciting to welcome St Cuthbert's College to Winchester last week for their World Class School Award Induction. St Cuthbert's are the first school from New Zealand to adopt HPL and they had a fantastic two days learning about HPL and seeing it in action in two brilliant schools.

We are very grateful to St Swithun's School in Winchester for hosting our visitors on Tuesday, 10th September. St Swithun's School are in their 7th Year as an HPL School and offered an inspiring vision of a truly mature HPL school, enabling St Cuthbert's staff to see the impact on staff and students over time. No-one could stop talking about the happy, relaxed and purposeful atmosphere we enjoyed across all areas of a truly wonderful school.

On Wednesday, 11th September, it was a privilege to be welcomed at LVS Ascot, a school very new to the WCSA and just getting started with adopting HPL. LVS Ascot shared with St Cuthbert's the thoughtful and engaging ways they have been introducing HPL to staff and students and their plans for the year ahead. It was wonderful to visit such a vibrant and confident school and our visitors left full of ideas and keen to get going on their own HPL journey.

FGC HPL Leads Global Forum (UK)

We were delighted to host the FGC HPL Leads Global Forum (UK) on Tuesday, 10th and Wednesday, 11th of September at Windsor Castle.

The FGC HPL Leads Global Forum (UK) focused on identifying strategic priorities for the new academic year, shared good HPL practice, and provided the opportunity to network and reflect.

Day one of the HPL Leads Global Forum (UK), explored the various approaches schools can take to utilise the “Towards Excellence in HPL Practice” and drive high quality HPL teaching and learning across the school. HPL Leads also focused on the “HPL Teacher in the Classroom” and how to effectively utilise the framework to support teachers to move from Application to Fluency or Fluency to Precision. They further explored “Unpacking the 7 Pillars of High Performance Learning” and provided opportunities for colleagues to critically reflect on whole school approaches to optimising HPL.

On Day two HPL Leads focused on their HPL Road Map. The session was designed to help HPL Leads reflect on their HPL journey and identify areas of priority for the new academic year.

We are looking forward to delivering the next HPL Leads Global Forum in the Middle East!

  • Guest Webinar: Empowered Teachers Make Lasting Impressions | Matt Tiplin & Stella James | 26 September 2024 | 1.15 pm - 2.15 pm (UK time)

Why did you choose to be a teacher? Reflect on the teachers who left a lasting impact on you. What made them unforgettable? An exceptional teacher doesn't just teach; they inspire with their knowledge, methods, and the trust they build, profoundly influencing their students' lives. Investing in the growth of teachers not only drives outstanding results but also sharpens your school’s competitive edge. By enabling teachers to self-reflect on their classroom practice, leaders can empower them to develop incrementally and sustainably. Teachers are role models in every sense to our students – if we want students to be high performers then we have to encourage our teachers that they are too. In this webinar Matt & Stella will share their expertise on effective approaches to self-reflection and how this can have a positive impact on professional development, student progress, and outcomes. Register here
