Islamic and Arabic - Mahmoud Ismail Maged
BIO
My name is Mahmoud Ismail, and I am currently an Arabic and Islamic coordinator at Cambridge International School in Dubai, which is part of the GEMS Education group.
My teaching journey began in Egypt, where I worked as an English teacher for five years. In 2015, I embarked on a new chapter of my career by relocating to Dubai. Since then, I have been teaching Arabic and Islamic to non-native speakers, fostering a love for the language, and helping students develop their linguistic skills.
In 2019, I embarked on my HPL journey at Cambridge International School. Recognizing the immense potential of this approach, I have actively embraced and implemented HPL practices within the Arabic and Islamic department. As an advocate for high-quality education, I collaborate with other schools within the GEMS group, sharing best practices and striving to enhance the implementation of HPL strategies in classrooms.
My Aims from the Subject community:
Within this subject community, my intention is to share my experiences of implementing HPL in my Arabic lessons, along with valuable resources that can assist teachers in effectively incorporating HPL strategies in their own classrooms. I will openly discuss both successful practices and those that did not yield the desired outcomes. The objective is to engage in meaningful discussions that reflect on the most effective ways of implementing HPL, ultimately fostering an environment where students can be fully engaged and empowered to achieve their maximum potential.
I am deeply committed to education, and my dedication extends well beyond the boundaries of the classroom. I have a strong desire to continuously enhance my skills as an educator and remain abreast of the latest teaching methodologies and practices. By actively engaging with the HPL community, I aspire to further develop these methodologies and contribute to collective growth and knowledge sharing. I firmly believe that by combining my genuine passion for teaching with my expertise in Arabic and Islamic education, within the dynamic HPL online community, we can cultivate an enriching and empowering learning atmosphere that empowers students to thrive and reach their utmost potential. Together, we can generate new ideas, exchange diverse perspectives, and foster an environment of continuous improvement in education.
