  1. Using AI to maximise the Art experience for our students
I think after COVID especially we saw the surge in digital technology in Art, we have rapidly seen how AI can be used to generate artwork and artists are even selling their work through the development of NFTs!

It's an interesting time for art and art teaching - is AI taking away student creativity or does it enhance creativity and imagination? Are more traditional methods being lost in the ever-evolving world that we live in and are we forgetting the power of our own hands and creating artwork through the manipulation of media? Are we getting lazy and are we using our fine motor skills enough or are we fixed to our keyboards and advancements in technology?
  2. Balancing Tradition and Technology in Art Education: A Teacher's Perspective

In the realm of education, the integration of digital technology presents both exciting opportunities and notable challenges. Using digital platforms facilitates enhanced communication, collaboration, and creativity among students, families, and educators. Whether for data collection, sharing resources, or attending remote meetings, these tools enable dynamic and interactive engagement within the educational community, enriching the learning experience for all involved.

While there are concerns regarding AI's potential to overshadow student creativity in the Art classroom, others perceive it as a means to accelerate imaginative exploration. As an art teacher, I strive to strike this balance by incorporating AI into the curriculum to broaden students' research and idea generation. Additionally, I implement rotational activities in the classroom to foster student agency and involvement. These activities introduce diverse artistic techniques and mediums, encouraging students to take ownership of their learning journey.

As educators, we must maintain a healthy balance between embracing technological advancements and preserving traditional methods. Students must continue to develop fine motor skills and express themselves through hands-on manipulation of various media. Ultimately, technology should be regarded as an empowering tool rather than a substitute for traditional art practices.
