WCSA Induction at St. George's House, Windsor Castle

We are delighted to have welcomed our latest WCSA Cohort (Queen's College, The British School in the Netherlands, Hartland International School and Nadeen School Bahrain) at St. George's House, Windsor Castle. Our latest Cohort had the privilege of witnessing the changing of the guards on day two of the WCSA Induction. We look forward to working with you through year one as you begin your High Performance Learning journey and we certainly look forward to hosting the next WCSA Induction at the very same prestigious venue, St. George's House, Windsor Castle in September 2023.

Participate in IDG's Magic Encounters Competition

The Magic Encounters competition gives HPL school students the opportunity to experience command tasks and then design their own task. The winning school will see their design turned into a real-life command task, which IDG will create and deliver to the students, and some of their global corporate clients! This is a call for all Heads/ Principals and Teachers to encourage their students to participate in the competition, as it is a unique and memorable experience for staff and students in High Performance Learning schools.

Looking for inspiring examples of application around ACPs and VAAs? Well, look no further!

St Edmund's College and Prep School produced some great examples in their College Life, Spring  Newsletter. They highlighted how parents can support their child/children to understand and practice the characteristics of High Performance Learning and further provided examples of how the ACPs and VAAs are used in various subjects and areas inside the classroom and outside the classroom. How are you driving the ACPs and VAAs inside and outside your Classroom? Join other schools by sharing your HPL examples.

Are you a Year 4 Math Teacher and need inspiration to design a lesson for the conversion of Metres to Kilometres  and vice versa?

Have a look at Kristina Stanova's lesson that she has adapted from a Twinkl resource. Kristina has added HPL terminology and tasks are also designed for students to practice their ACPs and VAAs.  This Math lesson is taught in Year 4 at GEMS, The Cambridge High School, Abu Dhabi.

NB: This example is a modification of a Twinkl resource.

Join us in welcoming Nadeen School Bahrain to the World Class Schools Award Scheme!

Nadeen School, established in 1978, is a growing all-through school consisting of Pre-School/Nursery, Primary and Secondary sections. With their new state-of-the-art campus in Dilmunia, the Principal Paul Walton and all staff are excited to offer a range of exciting learning experiences. The ethos at Nadeen School Bahrain is to instil a passion for learning amongst their young learners within the established uniquely international setting.

Nadeen School Bahrain is an outstanding school, offering a high-quality international education in beautiful Bahrain, with a personalised approach to learning which enables each child to achieve beyond their perceived potential. At Nadeen School, they believe in ensuring that all students are unique, should be encouraged to follow their passions, interests and their individual successes are celebrated. To facilitate this, Nadeen School have adopted their philosophy that places the development of the whole child at the forefront of everything they do. The school's approach to learning is very specific in the way that they teach, students interact and develop. This includes a school-wide passion for progressive teaching, hands on learning and learning by ‘doing’. Nadeen School encourages their students to learn with a growth mindset, embracing new challenges and learning with others both in and beyond the classroom through education trips, sports, music, languages, visits, caring for the environment and Extra-curricular activities.

It was an utmost pleasure to host Agnes Monan, Stephanie Andronikos and Kate Fellowes from Nadeen School Bahrain at the WCSA Induction at St. George's House, Windsor Castle.

💡 Thinking Education

Working with HPL: Managing the polarities of planned and generative change? In this HPL Think Piece, David Rowsell - HPL Associate provides two approaches in leading and managing HPL at whatever stage. Furthermore, David states "when it comes to working with professional colleagues on pedagogy as HPL ultimately does, we would be wise to acknowledge, explicitly, the fact that our colleagues are folk (individually and in their various teams) with great professional experience and expertise, that they have a range of fears, anxieties, hopes and ambitions, and that, by and large, they prefer dialogue at all levels which involves common purpose, respect for agency and curiosity, rather than assumption, judgment and directives. Or, as Gervase Bushe puts it, generative change “identifies the steps required to engage the people who will have to change, in conversations where they come up with the new ideas, they are willing to act upon, it creates a more adaptive, agile organisation, better able to tackle increasing complexity and uncertainty, most organisations are too complex for the planned change approach.”
