A new “Teacher Certification” area in HPL Online containing materials and guidance for the Awards went live last week. As you may know, this scheme was one of the new developments this year. The Scheme has 3 awards at present: HPL Teacher, HPL Expert Teacher and HPL Teacher Leader. We are looking forward to receiving submissions in June from 41 teachers for the HPL Teacher Award, 27 for the HPL Expert Teacher Award and another 136 for the Teacher Leader Award.

Staff in schools within the Fellowship and Global Community are eligible to participate in all awards whilst Middle Leaders on the HPSA programme are eligible for the HPL Teacher Leader Award. A gentle reminder to all those candidates to look at the materials in HPL Online as there is a new podcast about collecting and gathering evidence and an exemplar completed section of a self-evaluation form.

Great work going on in British School Muscat!

These super HPL posters have been produced by British School Muscat Students to explain HPL competencies and how different literary characters embody those competencies. This has the double-edged effect of raising the profile of HPL competencies and reading within the school. Great work!

What is happening in your school? Join other schools by sharing your HPL examples. Don’t miss out! #SharingIsCaring

Are you looking for ways to link ACPs throughout your School?

Don’t panic! This is a great example of how King Edward VI Handsworth Wood Girls' Academy has looked at how ACPs can be used throughout the school in different ways, as a transferable skill. Share how you have rolled out HPL skills with your pupils on HPL Online!

💡 Thinking Education

https://campaign-image.eu/zohocampaigns/134932000000064003_1_1677597135010_zc-noimage.png

Have we been grouping students inappropriately, and potentially hampering their learning outcomes? Yes, according to Melanie Saunders, Chief Education Advisor at High Performance Learning. Empowering schools to group students intelligently, rather than by so-called ‘intelligence’ is the first step to ensuring the way we use sets in schools helps and nurtures progress. In this blog, Melanie examines the pitfalls of setting, and how to address the assumptions we make in doing so. Find out how to make it work for teachers and students alike.

Let us know what you're up to!

We love to see what our HPL Family is up to! If you have any resources, successes, initiatives or anything else you would like to share with the Global HPL Community make sure to submit them on HPL Online.
