Weekly  Update

8th March 2023

Welcome to HPL's weekly updates! We are delighted to have you as a member of the HPL Global Community. We would like to keep you informed with the latest updates in HPL from events to resources and materials, to thoughts on education and much more.

Best regards,

Cassey Benito

Last chance to sign up for the Annual Conference!

The Annual Conference is getting closer. We have an exciting programme! If you have not signed up yet.... Hurry! And secure your seat!  The Conference will provide opportunities to appraise and reflect on the role middle to executive leadership plays in propelling a school, whatever its starting point, along that journey to World Class.

Just a friendly reminder for all upcoming Linking Up Meetings and TeachMeets for WCSA, HPSA and the FGC. Save the dates and do not miss out! It is an opportunity to mingle with like-minded individuals. The topics are interesting and buzzing!

Don’t miss out! HPL has a collection of full and half-day courses designed to help your whole team adopt the HPL framework, change their mindset to believe that all students are capable of high performance and ensure that #EveryoneCan

We are now accepting enrolments for our 2023/24 World Class School Award. Help us spread our #EveryoneCan philosophy by encouraging your network to discover HPL.

🎉 Celebrating HPL Schools

We hosted over 75 teachers at the FGC TeachMeet on the 21st February 2023 to discuss how HPL is used in lessons post accreditation. HPL would like to thank all teachers who attended!  As with all our TeachMeets a summary of the conversation and key points will be shared with all FGC teachers and a reflective tool shared to support your ongoing discussions and HPL pedagogic practice.

HPL would like to take this opportunity to thank and congratulate Pates Grammar and GEMs Wellington International Schools who hosted Teacher Takeover Conferences on the 9th of February 2023! Both were momentous events. Linking up both Schools was a remarkable success, as it portrayed that it is possible to work together as a Global Community!

We are delighted to announce that there has been over 100 submissions from HPL Schools and 10 winners to the Economist Foundation, where HPL Students were given the platform to share their perspectives on Greenwashing and why it matters. Well done to all  HPL Students for their hard work, creativity and enthusiasm, as this global platform  demonstrated their power and voice  to the debates around sustainability and climate change.

đź’ˇ Thinking Education

Russel Ellicott, Headteacher of Pates Grammar School - an HPL World-Class School - discusses the benefits of using a coaching leadership style which enhances teachers’ ambitions and creates a culture of trust. In the Blog, Russel states that "Leaders in High Performance Learning schools are successful individuals who are constantly striving for more. Empowering leaders to lead through coaching is a proven way to help and support them to raise aspirations, reflect and work at an elevated level."
