    • HPL PE Challenge - What makes a great sportsperson? (KS3 / KS4)

Helping students to realise that no-one makes it to the top on their own and no one can be world-leading in something without hours and hours of practise. This challenge is for students to reflect on the qualities an athlete needs and consider what really makes someone "great".

    • HPL PE Project: Exploring professional sports (KS2 / KS3)

This 8 part lesson challenge, kindly provided by Global Lead Teacher Emily Gilbert from Pearl Academy, looks at developing student knowledge of the aspects of sport through an enquiry based project. Students will develop their creativity through designing their own sporting logo and stadium and well as considering sporting commentaries, player wages and the journey of fans around the world.

    • HPL PE Challenge - Sports Coach practice: design a diet plan and exercise routine (KS4 and 5)

The following HPL Challenge can be used for KS4 and adapted to meet KS5. Students must research and plan an exercise routing and diet plan, acting as a sports coach. They can challenge themselves to write it for a disabled or specialist group. This challenge requires them to research food groups and energy requirements, muscle groups and exercises in order to make a careful plan. Then they swap plans with a partner, who must try out their plan for a week and peer review.

    • HPL PE Challenge: Circuit at Home (All Key Stages)

Our homes can be places where we can exercise and keep fit even if we need to stay indoors. In this challenge, learners are going to design an exercise circuit that uses things found in their homes as equipment or props. For younger learners, this will require adult supervision.

    • HPL PE Challenge: The Components of Fitness (KS3)

This lesson challenge asks learners to explore the components of Fitness; both health-related and skill-related. Students will then need to consider how to improve both their fitness and suggest advice for others to improve in the sporting area.
