HPL Art Challenge - Pandemics through art (KS4 and KS5)
The following HPL Challenge can be used for KS4 and KS5, in analysing, interpreting and judging art from pandemics. This should help students explore the emotions and difficulties faced by the artists at the time, exploring their empathy VAA, as well as practising their enquiring VAA and connection finding ACP.
HPL Design Challenge - Building a Children's Toy at Home
The following HPL Challenge can be used for all key stages and is a fun way to get your learners designing and building.
During lock down keeping children, especially young children, occupied is a particular challenge. This learner challenge is to think about using their environment, and by practising using the design process, design a toy from materials in their home.
Courtesy of our Global Lead Teacher, Kirsten Parker at St Lawrence College, here is a series of lessons for a Pop-up card project. Students must research, design, develop and evaluate a pop-up card, developing several ACPs and VAAs along the way.
